The Blue Solar Flower of Andalusia

The Planta Solar 10 is the world's first commercial concentrating solar power tower operating near Seville, Spain. Reflected by heliostats, sunlight is concentrated at the top of a 115-meter high, 40 stories tower, where a solar receiver, a steam turbine and a generator produce 11 megawatts of electricity, enough for 5,500 homes. Energy can also be stored for up to 1 hour.
